Belgrade New Year’s Festival festive opening has been appointed for the afternoon, but visitors may enjoy the Festival programs already since 11.00 a. m. (on Friday, December 16). This Belgrade Fair event is a part of the city spectacle – Belgrade Winter.
The Festival is intended for those wishing to complete the fest feeling before the New Year’s Eve by playing, amusing, having a good time, socializing or fest shopping. It is intended for children, but also the tourists from the whole region, Europe and far meridians. Belgrade became for them the favorite travel destination for having a good time during the fest.
The fifteen days long Festival program is very diverse. At Belgrade Fair Hall 2, even 37 free programs for children will be held, music/scene spectacles and show programs, under participation of many famous artists and children’s authors. The traditional Amusement Park is situated at the Hall 1, with amasing carousels, marry-go-round and other various playrooms. The Green Oasis is in the Atrium, where the young and old visitors may be with horses and enjoy their beauty and virtues. Beside many other surprise features, the Fair visitors will be able to buy also the consumer goods – from New Year’s gifts and food products to computers and home appliances.
At 5.30 p. m., the Festival will be symbolocally opened by the City Manager Goran Vesić. The traditional fireworks will mark the start of this 56 years old event.
Belgrade New Year’s Festival will be open from 11.00 a. m. to 8.00 p. m. The entry for all features is free of charge. The car parking shall be paid RSD.200.00 for the whole day.
A Connection of Amusement and Science
In the first few days of the Belgrade New Year’s Festival, i.e. by Sunday, December 18, beside the cultural/amusing program, the visitors may enjoy also the scientific accomplishments featured within the anniversary 10th Science Festival. Under the slogan The Pure Ten, the Science Festival visitors will be presented 53 premiere scientific units, more than 60 scientific and educational institutions from Serbia, as well as the guests from Germany, Sweden, Austria, Slovenia, Estonia and France.
Clearly, the main motive of the audience visiting Belgrade Fair at the second half of December is amusement, but since the Science festival is the proof science is not necessarily dull, we would suggest you to visit also the Halls 3, 3A and 11 anyway. More than 600 scientists and demonstrators will feature to the visitors with or without scientific previous knowledge many experiments, workshops, lectures and scientific show programs there.
This already legendary promoter of science, scientific research and discoveries will continue ‘clarifying’ the scientific secrets and labyrinths, interpreting and demystifying various accomplishments and as particularly important – it will make science more understandable and available for young generations. This Festival, having become famous for its competences, level, seriousness, but also charm also outside the limits of its country, will provide the New Year’s Festival with an inexpressible shine created by the education and amusement, learning and playing. The visitors will especially enjoy some interactive installations.
The first and second day of the Science Festival, Thursday and Friday, December 15 and 16, are intended primarily for the organized school visits and will be open from 10.00 a. m. to 6.00 p. m., while December 17 and 18, Saturday and Sunday, are Family Days, open from 10.00 a. m. to 8.00 p. m. For the Since Festival programs at the Halls 3, 3A and 11, the entry ticket of RSD. 450.00 shall be paid, plus the additional entry ticket of RSD.100.00 only for the physical laser show of Lund University from Sweden, at the cash counter on the spot (limited number of seats). The children up to the age of five, accompanied by their parents or trustees, do not pay the entry.
