Digital two-day tribune program “Deviation from Distance” of the International Belgrade Book Fair
When, on the last day of the 64th International Belgrade Book Fair, which took place under the slogan LETTER = HEAD, the Ambassador of Egypt presented the “Open Book” to the in charge of d’affaires of the Romanian Embassy, announcing that our neighbors will be honorary guests of the next, 65th edition of the largest cultural manifestation in this part of Europe, no one could have guessed that almost the whole 2020 will be marked by the slogan “Let’s be responsible” and that most of this year’s great cultural events will be postponed for some safer and healthier times.
The International Belgrade Book Fair has organized digital two-day tribune programs that will be realized on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, under the common title “Deviation from Distance”. During these two days, eight talks will be held, in which prominent representatives of the domestic literary and wider cultural scene will participate.
They will discuss Meša Selimović, Borislav Pekić, the translation vocation, children’s literature, the jubilee of the Šišatovac monastery, the problem of periodization of contemporary Serbian literature and the way in which the domestic media functioned and are functioning during the pandemic.
The complete program and the names of all participants can be found here, and all those interested will be able to follow all eight forums live via the official Facebook profile of the Book Fair.
All tribunes will then be found on the Belgrade Fair YouTube channel and will be available to the public via links on many sites of our media houses.
