The Anniversary 40th Exhibition and Conference – Fire and Rescue, Occupational Safety and Health – 112 EXPO, has been opened at Belgrade Fair and will take place till Friday, October 14. The General Patron of this educational, protection, safety and business event of general interest is the Emergency Management Sector of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the Patron is the Occupational Safety and Health Department of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
Pointing out the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs has been the event Patron since 2006, Mr. Aleksandar Jablanović, State Secretary, said such a role was an honor, as it is a matter of a very important event.
– Contemporary business conditions require the awareness change within the occupational safety and protection and the Fair objectives are also the establishing of social dialogue, promotion of the prevention and professional program of the employee protection. In eight months in 2016m the inspectors performed slightly more than 36 thousand monitoring actions, 9,196 of which was related to the occupational safety. The experience tells us the injuries are usually in the construction industry, where there is a lot of ‘black’ work. Thus, there is often lack of the regulations and procedures obeying. This has to be changed, but the practice shows just the implementation of pure reasoning protection measures would save many lives, explained Mr. Jablanović.
On behalf of the General Patron – Emergency Management Sector of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Predrag Marić, Assistant Minister, spoke at the Opening Ceremony. Welcoming both the exhibitors and visitors, Mr. Predrag Marić declared the Anniversary 40th 112 EXPO opened:
– Preventive action to the risks is very important and we put great efforts to train the staff and provide the necessary equipment for the action under emergency situations. The Fair is an opportunity to make contacts in the safety sector, but also for the promotion of diverse equipment and protections systems, the skills of the Ministry of Interior officers and special units of civil protection. The prevention is important for the security and safety, but also the precondition of development of the entire country, concluded Mr. Marić.
This year’s 112 EXPO gathered about 100 direct exhibitors. They feature more than 150 local and international brands from about ten countries, but also connect in various ways several thousand professionals in the protection/safety branch.
