On the morning of Sunday, October 27, the final day of the 67th International Book Fair, the 200,000th visitor passed through the fair gates, marking a record since attendance has been measured this way, stated Danka Selić, Director of the Belgrade Fair, at the closing press conference.
She reported that 424 direct exhibitors (exhibitors and co-exhibitors) participated in the fair, including 340 domestic and 84 international exhibitors. The total number of participants, which also includes indirect and represented companies, was 881. The fair was held across more than 30,000 m² of gross exhibition space. A total of 530 programs were organized by the Belgrade Book Fair and the publishers.
In addition to Cuba, the Guest of Honor, and publishers from Serbia, the 67th International Belgrade Book Fair hosted publishers from Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Republic of Srpska), Greece, Iran, Italy, Germany, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Croatia, and Montenegro.
The Republic of Cuba was the Guest of Honor at the 67th International Belgrade Book Fair.
The fair awarded distinctions for Publisher of the Year, Publishing Venture of the Year, Children’s Book of the Year, Best Publishers from the Diaspora and the Region, special recognitions for contributions in the field of science, special awards for publisher, book, or comic, Most Beautiful Book, Most Beautiful Children’s Book, and a Special Recognition for Young Book Designer.
The 67th International Belgrade Book Fair was covered by over 1,200 journalists, cameramen, and photojournalists from electronic, print, and online media, accredited to report on the event. Media outlets and reporters from North Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Japan, Russia, Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, Malta, China, and Cuba were also there.
Dušan Kovačević, the President of the Book Fair Committee, expressed great satisfaction with the diversity of content and record attendance. He noted that it was especially important to him that the Book Fair attracts more young people each year, comparing the event to a grand performance.
Leyde E. Rodriguez Hernandez, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Belgrade, stated that it was an exceptional honor for his country to participate in such an event, which showed record attendance. The Cuban delegation of artists engaged with fair visitors, presenting their literature, art, and music.
Danka Selić announced that the dates for the 68th International Book Fair will be from October 18 to 26, 2025, at the Belgrade Fair.
