United by a common goal, representatives from various business sectors directly or indirectly involved in tourism have come together today to establish a professional association named the Tourism Industry Association of Serbia (ATIS).

This organization brings together key stakeholders from tourism, hospitality, travel agencies, transportation, finance, education, and healthcare, with the aim of strengthening the institutional voice of the sector, improving the business environment, and contributing to the sustainable development of tourism in Serbia. Among its founding members are the national airline “Air Serbia”, Singidunum University, the Belgrade Fair, leading travel agencies, prestigious hotels, car rental and bus companies, and many others.

ATIS will serve as a modern platform for collaboration, joint initiatives, and strategic advocacy for the interests of Serbia’s tourism industry — at both the national and international levels. By adopting global best practices and working closely with government institutions, ATIS aims to become a key partner in shaping tourism policy, conducting market analysis, and promoting Serbia as an attractive and responsible destination.

“ATIS was founded with the mission to build a strong, modern, and responsible tourism industry based on knowledge, ethics, and professionalism. The association will work to improve the legislative framework and business environment, strengthen dialogue with the government, promote sustainable tourism, support digital innovation, develop human resources and industry standards, and combat the grey economy and unfair competition,” said Dejan Veselinov, Director of the Tourism Industry Association of Serbia.

At a time when tourism is rapidly changing and developing, the role of education is more important than ever. ATIS recognizes these challenges and responds to them through concrete actions, aiming to build an educated, professional, and responsible tourism sector. Through its planned activities, ATIS will not only enhance the knowledge and skills of industry professionals but also raise public awareness of tourism’s importance for the country’s social and economic development. By investing in knowledge and people, the association is laying the foundation for a modern, sustainable, and competitive tourism industry.
