The Republic of Turkey will participate in the International Book Fair to be held in Belgrade from 21 October to 29 October. Publications will be presented at the national stand prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey with the aim of promoting Turkish culture and literature, as well as developing opportunities for collaboration in the field of publishing. Approximately 1500 titles will be exhibited, including prestigious publications and works of Turkish literature published in foreign languages. In addition, as a support to private publishing, six publishing houses will display their books and negotiate copyrights.
As always, the Belgrade Book Fair will contribute to the promotion of the TEDA project, which has been providing financial support for the translation and publication of Turkish literary works into foreign languages, being implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey since 2005. Within this project, nineteen publishing houses in Serbia have been supported, eighty-two works by fifty-seven Turkish authors have been translated into Serbian, of which sixty-six titles have been published in Serbia.
