After the Decision on Lifting the State of Emergency had been taken by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Belgrade Fair began to take a series of measures and activities in order to gradually normalize its business operations. Fairs and exhibitions are a necessary “quick link” for economic recovery after COVID-19, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the backbone of any economy, and for which fairs and direct meetings are the most important sales and marketing channels.
The International Union Exhibitions and Fairs (UFI) has published a document enclosing recommendations with respect to reopening of fairs and B2B meetings in the aftermath of COVID-19. The proposed measures are aimed at organizing fair events in a controlled and safe environment for visitors, exhibitors and employees. The Belgrade Fair will be fully adhering to all of the aforementioned measures and recommendations in its future business operations.
The fair industry is gradually beginning to revive its activities across the globe. In that sense, China, in the city of Hunan organized a large car show between 30 April and 5 May followed by more than 100 different brands showcased across the area of more than 60 thousand sq. meters. After China, further steps in organizing fairs and exhibitions are being taken in Germany as the largest European fair market.
At the initiative of the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), organization of fairs is separated from other mass gatherings with the possibility of reorganizing fair events as of 30 May 2020 by adhering to implementation of special measures. All these are the first encouraging signs of gradual normalization of economic life.
We hope that, in the coming period, we will once again have the opportunity to organize fairs and exhibitions in a successful manner. The first step in that direction would be the planned organization of SEEBBE Building Trade Fair that is set to take place between 24 June and 27 June 2020 at Belgrade Fair under the slogan “Dreams Coming True”. The successful organization of this fair complete with all prevention and control measures that will be applied, will represent the victory of all of us, as well as our joint contribution to economic and social recovery of our country.
Let’s keep on building our dreams together!
