Today, Belgrade Fair has officially proclaimed the 50th Education and Teaching Tools Fair open.
Under the slogan “Educated Serbia, Successful Serbia” the event will provide relevant educational information to visitors, educators as well as to schoolchildren of all ages and their parents by Sunday 27 October in halls 2B and 3A.
The event was opened by Ms. Anamarija Vicek, a State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, who pointed out to the importance of education and training, as well as to the Ministry’s efforts to improve the quality of education both in terms of infrastructure and investment in curricula.
Presentation of the Ministry’s work at the fair in exhibition hall 2, level B, will be primarily focused on important areas of educational development, whilst topics will cover all levels of education from pre-school and elementary, through secondary vocational and artistic, to higher education and science.
A special stress will be laid on examples of good practice at successful schools and preschools, as well as on dual education and entrepreneurship development.
Many results and achievements of the Ministry will be showcased across a number of projects it has currently been engaged in and which have contributed greatly to the school’s involvement in contemporary social trends.
The Ministry invites all visitors to both exchange and share their expectations and ideas so that TOGETHER WE WOULD HAVE THE SCHOOL WE WANT.
Officially the best young mathematician in Europe, Ms. Jelena Ivancic, a 4th grade student at the Mathematical Grammar School also took part in the official opening of the Education and Teaching Tools Fair, and who was, on this particular occasion, presented with a travel voucher by both the State Secretary Ms. Anamarija Vicek and a CEO to Belgrade Fair Ms. Danka Selic, that will allow her and her family to travel together.
Jelena is one of only five girls attending the Mathematical Grammar School who has been participating in the Olympiad ever since her first grade of high school and ever since this school was founded and has been winning medals in competitions across the globe. Her biggest success so far has been this year’s gold medal at the 60th International Mathematical Olympiad in the UK, as well as a special accolade – the Mirzakhani Prize, named after the famous Iranian mathematician Ms. Maryam Mirzakhani, that is awarded to the best girl mathematician in every continent. The European winner is our Jelena, and her results are better than all other award-winning girls.
Many segments of educational system are being presented at this year’s Education and Teaching Tools Fair, whilst visitors can become closely acquainted with the programs offered by educational institutions and institutions of different levels and professions, as well as with modern teaching tools that are of great importance to educational improvement, textbooks and other educational publications, didactic methods and games that encourage creativity and motor skills.
Part of the exhibition program also includes: professional orientation, entrepreneurship, educational incentive programs, lifelong learning, knowledge transfer, inclusive education, talent nurturing, international cooperation, etc.
On this occasion, high school students, students, young professionals as well as parents will be able to become more familiar with faculty programs from both Serbia and abroad, i.e., with both public and private ones all in one place. Faculties and colleges will have the opportunity to present their undergraduate and master programs.
The exhibition part of the event will be complemented by the rich and interesting accompanying program that will take place in the Accompanying Program Hall 2 level B, that will include numerous promotions, presentations and lectures intended for the general public, whilst daily presentations will also be organized at the exhibitors’ stands.
The School Day, Thursday, 24 October 2019, is intended for organized visits by pupils, teachers, school librarians, students and professors. On this special day, the exhibitors will be presenting rich content for older and younger students, as well as for their teachers and lecturers.
Event working hours: 23 and 24 October (Wednesday, Thursday) between 10:00 and 20:00, and on 25, 26 and 27 October (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) between 10:00 and 21:00.
Ticket price: The price of a single ticket shall be charged RSD 250.00, group tickets RSD 150.00, whilst parking fee shall be collected in the amount of RSD 150.00 an hour.
