A high-profile meeting was recently convened between the Belgrade Fair and a diplomatic delegation from the Republic of Tunisia to finalize details for the country’s highly anticipated participation as the esteemed Guest of Honor at the upcoming 69th International Belgrade Book Fair.
The distinguished gathering brought together H.E. Imen Laajili Ammari, Ambassador of Tunisia, alongside Advisor Azza Sayadi Abid and translator Milica Petrović.
The embassy delegation was received by Nikola Banković, Director of the Belgrade Fair, who underscored the profound significance of their long-standing partnership across international trade exhibitions, reinforcing a mutual commitment to deeper cultural and economic exchange.
Discussions centered on the creative concepts underpinning Tunisia’s exhibition layout, the curation of visiting delegates, and the execution of bespoke program content, outlining a framework for coordinated and timely preparations in the months ahead.
With the autumn season in sight, a shared vision united the gathering: to craft a truly authentic showcase of Tunisian literature, heritage, and culture at Southeast Europe’s most prestigious literary event, brought to life by an elite lineup of eminent writers and artists.
Further adding to this momentum, a significant testament to the Belgrade Fair’s rising global influence came this week with the appointment of Director Nikola Banković to the helm of the Central European Fair Alliance (CEFA). This prestigious appointment further solidifies the Belgrade Fair’s standing as a cornerstone institution within the European and international exhibition industry, championing cross-border collaboration and the exchange of global expertise.
The 69th International Belgrade Book Fair will take center stage at the Belgrade Fairgrounds from October 23 to 31, 2026. As the region’s most heavily attended literary summit, it will traditionally unite publishers, authors, book lovers and devoted readers from around the globe. Beyond showcasing the latest contemporary releases, the fair will host a vibrant series of panels, sparking critical dialogue on literature, publishing, and the contemporary arts. At its core, the foundational essence of the Book Fair remains beautifully unchanged: bridging the gap between domestic and global literary production and a passionate reading public.
