Belgrade Fair

The Belgrade Fair celebrates its 87th anniversary on September 11 of this year. This moment is special not only for the company but for all of Serbia and the region.

For nearly nine decades, the Belgrade Fair has played a crucial role in promoting the economy, culture, and technology, becoming an essential meeting point for business people, artists, innovators, and all those who wish to move forward and exchange great ideas.

Founded in 1937, the Belgrade Fair has become the leading platform for organizing fairs and exhibitions in this part of Europe. For its founders, the goal was for the Fair to facilitate the exchange of goods and services between domestic and foreign companies. Today, almost nine decades later, this goal encompasses a much broader range of activities, including industrial, cultural, agricultural, technological, scientific, conference, and entertainment events. This development demonstrates that the Belgrade Fair has always been able to meet the needs of both the market and society, successfully adapting to new economic and technological trends.

Since the first opening of the gates on September 11, 1937, the Belgrade Fair has been paving the way for not only trade but also international relations in all parts of the world. The very first fair event, held at today’s Old Fairgrounds (Staro sajmište), represented a phenomenon on multiple levels within the European context.

Since then, the Fair has changed locations, expanded its infrastructure, improved services, and set new standards. It has been one of the leaders in creating and shaping the economic life and market environment of the country, remaining a key link between the Serbian economy and the world.

Throughout its rich history, the Belgrade Fair has hosted many significant events, some of which have reached global prominence, attracting millions of visitors from around the world. During this time, nearly 530,000 exhibitors from 180 countries have participated in the Fair, it has hosted 68 million visitors, and organized about 3,700 fair events of various profiles and formats, which on average attracted around twenty thousand people each.

These events have not only been platforms for business opportunities but also windows into the world of new technologies, innovations, and creativity. The Fair has thus become not only a center of business life but also a cultural institution that promotes the exchange of ideas and contributes to better understanding and cooperation among different societies.

Even today, in the digital age, the Belgrade Fair continues to follow contemporary trends in the organization of fairs, enabling the participation of an increasing number of exhibitors and visitors, and making this space globally accessible. The company has become a regular venue for discussions on sustainable development, environmentally friendly solutions, and new technological innovations, thus acting as a significant player in shaping the future of the economy and industry.

One of the key factors in the longevity of the Belgrade Fair is its ability to bring together various sectors of the economy, as well as social and cultural life, all in one place. At fair events, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to a wider audience, while visitors can learn about the latest achievements and trends in various industries. This synergy between the economy and culture, as well as between economic and non-economic activities, represents one of the most important values of the Belgrade Fair, distinguishing it from other similar institutions.

Facing numerous challenges, the Belgrade Fair has endured as a symbol of stability, innovation, and adaptability. With a large number of planned events, including traditional exhibitions as well as new, digital formats, this institution continues to confirm its status as a leader in the fair industry. This has been made possible by improving the Fair’s infrastructure to meet the needs of future generations.

This birthday of the Belgrade Fair is an opportunity to reflect on all the successes this company has achieved throughout its rich history. Its ability to adapt to the times and market needs, and to always stay one step ahead, has secured it an important place in the future of Serbia and the region. On this anniversary, the Belgrade Fair sends a strong message about the importance of continuous development, cooperation, and openness to new ideas, which are key to the durability and success of any company.

Best of luck!
